Get to know Prouds Store Manager, Mimi.

Can you tell us a little about your shop or service and what inspired you to work in the field? Prouds the Jewellers is a business that has been around for over a hundred years. My love for people and jewellery has led to me managing many Prouds stores over the years. The customers at Rockdale have been the liveliest so far. There is a real sense of community here!

What’s in season or really popular right now with shoppers? Paperclip design on bracelets or chains are very popular, and gold earrings in all shape or sizes are a staple in my own jewellery box and will add a touch of glamour to any outfit.

What’s your favourite thing in-store at the moment? I like everything in our store, particularly our new line of lab grown diamond jewellery. A thrifty and ethical way of sparkling more for less.

Choose four adjectives to describe yourself?  My customers would describe me as cheeky, friendly, helpful and cheerful.

How long have you been working here and what do you enjoy about this centre? I have been working at Prouds Rockdale for 2 years and will celebrating 25 years with the company in October. Being a local, I feel quite at home and enjoy the sense of community here.

What are your interests, any hobbies or mad obsessions? I love cooking and my family loves my famous chicken alfresco pasta bake. I love listening and dancing to my 80’s music and attending my Church community on Sundays.

What products or services do you offer and what makes them unique? Prouds has been known to offer timeless gold and silver jewellery, watches and giftware across generations at the best prices. We even offer jewellery repair.

What do you think makes Rockdale Plaza a great community and place to shop? I love the fresh and modern feel of Rockdale Plaza. The combination of restaurants and fashion make Rockdale Plaza a charming location.
